Finally, here’s the layer with just the characters and logos to the alternate Way Bad book cover I was talking about here. There’s gonna be a rad launch party soon. Pay attention to this Tumblr and to Permanent Sleep’s (they’re the ones putting it out) for details on that.

The Way Bad book’s all printed, and to celebrate, here’s an alternate cover that ended up not being used. The original plan was for this to be a special type of cover. The background (the pile of stuff) was gonna be printed on the actual book cover and colored in blue. The characters and text were gonna be printed all in green on a cellophane page that covered the whole thing to make a complete image. Kinda like an animation cell on top of a background. You’d flip the cellophane page to reveal just the pile of stuff underneath.
The cover that’s ACTUALLY being used is like a postcard with the cover graphic on it embedded in the book cover. Rad shit. Get stoked.

All-You-Can-Drink Skeleton Beer Party! This is seriously like the third time I did this drawing. The first time was a few years ago, as an album cover to this band my friends had.
The EP never actually got released, but if you like JESUS LIZARD, SHELLAC and, I dunno, METZ and shit like that, you should go listen to the entire thing over here. They were called B’ITALIAN. It was Mike Laderoute (he’s an ad man in Toronto now, and he also does drawings that you can check out here), and Davey Quesnelle (he won a pizza eating competition here in Ottawa a few weeks ago and is in a million Ottawa bands, including one of my favorites in the whole world, PREGNANCY SCARES; check them out if you like chaotic, Youth Attak-style hardcore) and Jay Rasia (he ran Transient Audio Recording Studios in Ottawa and he’s in MOUNTANAKA now; check them out if you like sludgey post-metal mixed with slower Swami Records type stuff).
Anyway, I drew it for a second time cuz I thought I could do it better, and I did it again now cuz I thought I could do it better than that. I think I was right both times, but I also think I’m handsome, so what the fuck do I know?

Also, something I wanna make clear: I noticed some Blink 182 fans started following this Tumblr after my post from November 6th. That’s cool if you wanna listen to shitty music (and even cooler if you’re well-adjusted enough to still be willing to follow the Tumblr of some dirtbag who openly despises that music), but just realize that that drawing was NOT making fun of the Black Flag/real skateboard dude on the right for being a pretentious, elitist punk. No, that guy was 100% right; the drawing was making fun of the Blink 182/longboard dude. Blink 182’s not punk. They’re not even POP-punk. To be pop-punk, you still gotta be punk. Blink 182 is just pop. The end.
As for longboarders, 99.9999% of them (ie: the ones NOT bombing hills at insane speeds and shit like that) aren’t skateboarders, they’re commuters.

First Davey ( malenursesongs.tumblr.com/ ) got ripped off by Mike ( mikeladeroute.tumblr.com/ ). But that wasn’t so bad, cuz Davey was doing a SONG a day and Mike was doing a DRAWING a day. So that’s a BIT of a heist, but not really, cuz it’s different. But now I’m ripping off Mike, and mine’s ALSO a drawing a day, so it’s bad. But I’m sure I’ll only last for like three days. Plus, I’m gonna cheat and use shit I did in the past few weeks to supplement my daily drawings, cuz I’m a bad human. Maybe even worse than Mike.
This drawing is a few weeks old. It’s my first post and I’m cheating already. I have no respect for anyTHING or anyBODY.
