Oh, man, drawing the background to this one almost killed me.

The reference I used for all three skaters was from the latest Thrasher (Dec 2011).  The dude on the bottom was Al Partanen doing a boneless.  Then the dude on top of him was Darren Navarrette doing a sad Andrecht (look it up), and it was all topped off with Brian “Slash” Hansen doing a hurricane.  Obviously I changed their features and all that, so they don’t actually LOOK like them, but it WAS them.

Pick up that issue of Thrasher, by the way, for a few reasons.  REASON 1: you should pick up EVERY issue of Thrasher.  REASON 2: It’s got a review of (and a tiny bit of content from) my zine, Standard Issue, in it (follow it on Tumblr here: http://standardissuemag.tumblr.com) and REASON 3: It’s got rad letter art by Luke Pelletier (follow him on Tumblr here: http://lukepelletier.tumblr.com) in it.
